Thanksgiving Anchor Charts Your Students Will Love
I can’t believe Thanksgiving is almost here! Time for some turkey-themed Thanksgiving anchor charts that will be perfect for your students this fall.
Today I am sharing with you some fun, FREE Thanksgiving anchor charts for kids! These anchor charts are easy to use. Simply display them on a projector and trace them beforehand, or display the blank copies on a document camera and fill out the mini-chart together.
What Do Students Already Know?
The first anchor chart in my turkey anchor charts for kids pack is a KWL chart. I love using these to see what students already know and what they want to learn. Throughout the week, I like to leave a stack of blank sticky notes next to the chart. I let students grab a sticky note and write down new facts that they learn when they are reading a book or researching on the web.
Introduce Facts About Turkeys with Anchor Charts
Once students have shared what they know about turkeys, I start a new anchor chart about facts and information that I want them to know. You can read a book or show a video about turkeys, then use this chart to record what they learn.
Parts of a Turkey Thanksgiving Anchor Chart Activities
Another anchor chart in my turkey anchor chart pack is a fun one for little learners. Students can name the different parts of a turkey then fill in their own blank copy at their seat.
Thankful Anchor Charts and Activities
Also included in the turkey anchor charts for kids pack are some fun activities on sharing what you’re thankful for this year. Foldables, graphic organizers, and anchor chart templates are a great way to get students to share what they are thankful for.
These activities make a great extension activity to the topic. Use them as seatwork or send the page home as a fun family activity.
Using Turkey-Themed Thanksgiving Anchor Charts in the Classroom
There are a ton of fun ways you can use these Turkey anchor chart ideas in the classroom. Use the anchor chart templates with the whole group where students can collaborate together. It is also great in small groups or a science center. Or, you could also save this activity for your Thanksgiving celebration as morning work when they come to school.
