Easy Ways to Teach Natural Resources Virtually
Natural resources is a fun geography topic my class loved to learn about. In this post, I will share some fun ways to teach natural resources virtually to your kids. These are perfect for distance learning or a social studies center.
How to Teach Natural Resources Virtually to Your Kids
During second grade, students learn how to identify natural resources. The month of March and April is a perfect time to incorporate natural resources into your curriculum. I also love teaching natural resources around Earth Day.
Bring Natural Resources to Life with Videos
Here are a few of my favorite videos to teach natural resources virtually:
Introduce Renewable and Nonrenewable Resources with Slides
In addition, using PowerPoint or Google slides to introduce a new topic to your class is another sure way to get them engaged. My students always enjoyed taking notes when watching a PowerPoint Slide.
See the Natural Resources Digital Slides I use or create your own by using PowerPoint or Keynote. I love uploading my PowerPoint slides to Google Classroom and sending them home as a fun project for kids to work on.
Read About Natural Resources: Comprehension Pages
Using Google slides is always a class favorite. Another way to teach natural resources virtually is by converting a reading passage to a google slide assignment.
I typed up simple questions to go along with the topic, then assigned each student the page to complete. Students can work on this independently for an early finisher activity or work on this virtually at home.

Teach Natural Resources Virtually With Fun Drag and Click Activities
Another fun spin on a traditional worksheet is drag and click activities. They are fun for students to work on independently, and they are also easy to grade when you use Google Classroom.
